I’m a dreamer. For as long as I can remember, getting lost in fantasies about life, imagined adventures and conversations have helped me through the dull moments. The more advanced my mobile phone has become though, the less time there has been for idle dreaming and the more time I’ve spent actually researching, planning, and getting lost in the depths of the internet rather than my own brain.

It’s always difficult for me to get back into the blogging groove when I’ve been away from it for a while. I hoard stories in a Firefox tab group that I’m dying to share with the world, yet never know where to start! Then I saw this heartwarming and hilarious video about Cancer patients. Yup, the big C. In addition to really liking her sound and style, Janelle Monae’s lyrics are pretty awesome. Listen to the first and last minute of this song below.Her lyrics feature references to actually interesting things, like the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, which I haven’t read, and is the basis of the movie Blade Runner, which I haven’t seen. Maybe I should! Regardless of what Google tells me about her lyrics, I just love it when singers sing about things other than sex, partying, and breakups. She also wears tuxedos all the time when she’s working, black and white, a very unique and incredible look. She just offers something so different from her contemporaries and I find it REALLY refreshing.
